Sensory Stargazing Safari & Night Walk Experience - Robin Hood's Bay

  • Location Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby

Highlights

When the skies are clear and it's close to a new moon, what you'll see here will take your breath away. Standing on the coastline looking out to sea, you'll be greeted by an inky darkness and a huge star-filled sky - if clear
Meanwhile you'll hear the rhythmical sound of waves on the shore, smell salty sea air and feel the breeze against your skin. It's refreshing, rejuvenating and massively up-lifting.
Although we can't guarantee clear skies, walking at night is a wonderful mood booster and makes you feel exhilarated. This is because your primary sense takes a back seat while all your other senses become alive. Weave in a secret formula along the way, and your ability to feel awe increases.
Infact, we've had our best evenings when its been cloudy or misty! It provides an extra layer of mystery and magic that leaves you feeling awe-inspired and very much alive.
During the evening you'll also find out more about planet earth, the cosmos,  and discover you're actually looking back in time. You'll also learn about the geology of this coastline too, as the area is steeped in ancient rocks and fossils, akin to the dinosaur coast.
Certainly, you'll leave feeling invigorated, refreshed and ready to embrace those darker months....

Further information - PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING
The evening can last anything from 3 - 4 hours depending on the weather. We may change the route at very short notice to enhance the experience. The walk can range in length from 4 - 6 miles and will depend on conditions underfoot and weather. There are hills (some steep), steps (lots of them), lots of mud too. When we reach the shoreline we will head back along the (now shingle and rock) beach. We will cross a shallow beck (stream).

For your comfort, a good level of fitness will be needed for this activity.

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions before booking. Please note booking fees are non-refundable.
